Prof. Julie Bower Named George F. Solomon Professor of Psychobiology

Professor Julie Bower has been appointed to the George F. Solomon Professorship of Psychobiology. George F. Solomon was a pioneer in the field of medicine now known as psychoneuroimmunology. A Professor in our Health Psychology area and in collaboration with the Norman Cousins Center for Psychoneuroimmunology, Dr. Bower will lead the effort to develop innovative programs in evidence-based behavioral approaches to prevent disease, promote healing and enhance overall well-being in patients and survivors of cancer.

Society for Health Psychology Awards to Profs Dunkel Schetter and Tomiyama

Congratulations to Professors Chris Dunkel Schetter and Janet Tomiyama, who earned awards from the Society for Health Psychology at the annual meeting of the American Psychological Association held in Denver in August of 2016.  Chris Dunkel Schetter received the Cynthia Belar Award for Outstanding Contributions to Education and Training in Health Psychology.  Janet Tomiyama earned the award for Outstanding Contributions to Health Psychology by an Early-Career Professional.
